My costume is finished! Thank goodness for transfiguration, or I would never have gotten done. It looks really lovely. I can't wait for the ball! It's so nice to have something positive to look forward to.

The other day I was walking up one of the staircases, and I could smell something amazing baking... I wonder what the house elves were making. I have such a sweet tooth! I think on Sunday I'm just going to curl up downstairs and relax with some books, tea, and a couple of lovely little cakes! Why not? I'll need to relax after such a difficult night of socializing.

I think the initial shock of the whole "trapped in a bubble" thing is starting to wear off for people. There's laughter in the corridors again and people are smiling a lot more. It makes the castle feel almost like old times.

I'm going to try and act like old times too.

The Halloween Ball is coming up, and I have to admit I'm a little bit excited about it. Nobody has asked me yet, but that's ok. I went stag to the Alumni Ball. And look how well that turned out! Ok, maybe not the funniest joke...

Besides, I can hardly worry about a date when I don't even have a good costume yet!

Well, I hope all you Puffs are still feeling all right. If anyone has concerns, feel free to ask me for a check-up! I know Madame Pomfrey is run off her feet.

Gosh, that sounds a bit dirty, doesn't it?

In other news, the school is packed full of new faces. A lot of former students have been trapped here, which must be awful for them! I can't imagine being trapped in a school, away from your life. At least we students all live here anyway...

Quarantine!

It's all anyone can talk about... I thought we'd all be snuggled under our covers tonight talking about who snogged who and who was wearing what! Instead, we're all scared and twitchy, wondering who it is who is sick and whose not. I heard it was a professor. I suppose we'll know tomorrow at breakfast. They'll be missing from the Head Table.

I want to offer my services to help Madame Pomfry, but I'm sure she'll want to keep me from getting sick myself. They say this virus is quite easy to catch.... Still... I want to help.

I'll do some research when I next get the chance, and keep my eye out of those with symptoms!
